Antique textiles and
clothing based in France
My background
I have been a prop buyer in the theatre for over 20 years working with great
designers such as Hildegard Bechtler, Maria Bjornsen, Paul Brown, Es Devlin,
Paul Farnsworth, Rob Howell and Ian MacNeil. Their work covered many different
periods, my work involved researching the look of these times so I could buy set
dressings, fabrics, paperwork, books and handprops to make each production feel
and look authentic.
Since moving to France I have transferred these skills to buying costumes and
textiles and have supplied them to companies such as The Royal Shakespeare
Company for a production set in 19th century Spain;Mama Mia, for a scene set in
19th century rural Greece; The Open Air Theatre at Regents Park for antique
linen sheets to use to make costumes.
The pictures on this website are examples of the type of clothing available –
but I have built up a comprehensive sourcebase and can find a large variety of
clothes and textiles.
